The Aston Martin Valkyrie has redefined production car performance by setting a new lap record at Silverstone’s Grand Prix Circuit. Piloted by Le Mans champion Darren Turner, the hypercar completed a lap in an astonishing 1:56.42, obliterating the previous record of 2:06.83 held by a modified Porsche 911 GT2 RS.
The Valkyrie's advanced aerodynamics and a hybrid V12 engine allowed it to surpass even some GT3 race car times, pulling over 3.3g in the corners and reaching speeds exceeding 200 mph on straights. Despite damp conditions following earlier rain, the car performed flawlessly on standard Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires.
Turner described the achievement as a milestone not only for Aston Martin but also for road-legal car engineering. “The technical challenges for the design and engineering team have been huge. Way beyond anything that I have seen in the motorsport world,” he remarked.

Silverstone, with its mix of high-speed straights and technical turns like Maggotts and Becketts, has long been a proving ground for motorsport. The Valkyrie’s feat solidifies its reputation as a hypercar capable of merging road practicality with race-dominating performance
